PSD Students to Participate in Grade 3 Pilot Student Learning Assessments (SLAs)

Alberta Education is making changes to its provincial assessment practices - Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) are being replaced by Student Learner Assessments (SLAs).

The new SLAs contribute to realizing the vision of Inspiring Education by better enabling parents and teachers to be aware of a child’s strengths or areas needing improvement. The SLAs are essentially “readiness” assessments that can be used to determine the programming needs for students for the school year, and support more personalized learning.

Parkland School Division Grade 3 students will write the new SLAs between September 29 and October 24, 2014.
