The Board of Trustees is pleased to share with all education stakeholders the highlights of our recent Board meeting held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. The adopted minutes will be available on our website following the next Regular Board meeting.

Next Regular Board Meeting will be held on October 6, 2015 at the Centre for Education at 9:30 a.m.

  • The Board held its annual Organizational Meeting in addition to the regular Board Meeting. Trustee Eric Cameron was elected Board Chair by acclimation. Kathleen Linder was elected Vice Chair by acclamation. The following Committee Chair positions were also chosen by acclamation:‚Äč

  • The Board approved the Division’s monthly Financial Report for the period ending July 31, 2015 as presented by Director of Business and Finance Jason Krefting. Based on year-to-date expenditures covering 11 out the 12 months in the fiscal year, and expected annual revenues, the Division is forecasting a deficit of $977,958.

  • Director of Facilities, Serge LaBrie, provided an overview of summer work performed in the months of July and August of 2015.  One of the priority areas was the installation of modular classrooms to accommodate the high density of students within Spruce Grove.   The biggest project was the installation of 4 modular classrooms at Ecole Broxton Park School.  Broxton Park also received all new lighting and ceiling tiles throughout the school.   Multiple school sites also completed the installation of new cables throughout to enhance wireless internet coverage as part of the Division wide Network Infrastructure Renewal Prjoject.   Other large projects completed including some new flooring at Blueberry, Duffield, Entwistle, Graminia, High Park, Stony Plain Central and Tomahawk Schools.  Paving was completed at Broxton Park and Millgrove school.  A number of school gymnasium floors were also sanded and re-finished.
