Additional Administrative Announcements for 2018-2019
September 5, 2018 - Parkland School Division’s Superintendent of Schools Shauna Boyce is pleased to announce the following administrative appointments for the 2018-2019 school year effective September 5, 2018. Mrs. Brenda Stumbur will moving to the Division’s Centre for Education as an Acting Director of Learning Services. Completing the shuffle, Ms. Donna Miners will become the Acting Assistant Principal of Duffield School.
“We are pleased that an educator with Brenda’s experience and expertise can temporarily step in to support staff and students in the role of Acting Director, Learning Services,” stated Superintendent Shauna Boyce.
“Parkland School Division’s administrative pool offers so many great choices and we know Donna will be a great fit as she seizes an opportunity to gain additional leadership experience in the Acting Assistant Principal role at Duffield School.”
Brenda Stumbur - Acting Director, Learning Services
Brenda started her teaching career in 1985 in the Northland School Division. She joined Parkland School Division in 1986 working with Early Years students at Entwistle School, Forest Green School and Millgrove School. In 2008, Brenda received an Excellence in Teaching award from Alberta Education. Brenda joined the administrative team at Millgrove as Assistant Principal in 2011 and moved into her current role as Assistant Principal at Duffield School in 2015-2016.
Brenda earned a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta as well as an Early Childhood Education Diploma. Brenda’s passion for lifelong learning and creating positive learning environments for students and staff has lead her to be very involved in her school community.
"I appreciate, on a daily basis, the various opportunities to learn, work and grow with the dedicated staff at Duffield School,” said Stumbur.
“Together, we continue to build relationships and create positive, impactful environments for student success. I am honoured to be joining the Learning Services team, in an acting role, as we collaborate and continue to support students, staff and families.”
Donna Miners - Acting Assistant Principal, Duffield School
Donna began her teaching career in 1991 with Wildrose School Division in Drayton Valley where she taught primarily Grade One and Grade Three. Her first stop with Parkland School Division was actually Duffield School in 2006 where she spent a total of eleven school years. Ms. Miners also had teaching posts with Grande Yellowhead School Division in that span. She has previously served in an Acting Administration role at Duffield. The 2017 - 2018 school year was split between Millgrove School and Brookwood School in Spruce Grove as a Collaborative Teaching Partner with a focus on literacy and numeracy.
Donna earned her Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary in 1991 and is currently in the Masters of Educational Studies program at the University of Alberta.
“I am very excited for the opportunity to return to Duffield School,” stated Miners.
“I look forward to building new connections with the staff, students and parents in this leadership role. I welcome the new experiences, growth, and relationships that this amazing community offers.”
