Board Meeting Highlights - September 5, 2017

September 6, 2016 - The Board of Trustees is pleased to share with all education stakeholders the highlights of our recent Board meeting held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. The adopted minutes will be available on our website following the next Regular Board meeting.

  • The Board approved the monthly financial report for the period ending July 31, 2017. As of July 31 93.1% of revenues have been collected for the year compared to 92.2% of expenses paid out to date resulting in total year-to-date surplus of $1.2 million dollars.
  • The Board received as information the Facilities Services Summer Work Report. Highlights include the replacement of six modular classrooms at Duffield School, roofing at Blueberry School, École Meridian Heights and Spruce Grove Composite High School, sanding and refinishing of the gymnasium floor at Forest Green School, various hot water tank replacements, a modernized and expanded kitchen at High Park School, a modernization in the basement at Tomahawk School due to water damage and the servicing of boilers, furnaces cisterns and wells at multiple schools.
  • The Board welcomed Name the New School contest winner Kristi Herd and officially recognized her for her winning submission of Copperhaven School. Copperhaven is scheduled to open for the 2018 - 2019 school year. 

Next Regular Board Meeting will be held on October 3, 2017 at the Centre for Education at 9:30am.
