About Me

After teaching in Fort McMurray for six years, Eric and his family moved to Spruce Grove in 1980. Prior to retirement, he served the educational community of Parkland School Division as teacher and administrator for thirty years. Eric has a strong supportive family which includes his wife Jane, two married daughters (Lisa and Alison), their husbands, and four precious grandchildren who provide a new perspective to their lives. Jane and Eric believe in an active, healthy, and balanced lifestyle.

Currently serving his third term as Trustee (six years as Board Chair), Eric has developed a philosophy rooted in the value of community and the educational needs of our future generations. Although Eric has a number of priorities as a Parkland School Division Trustee, some do rise to the

He believes:

Parkland School Division should continue to embrace true inclusive education which acknowledges the
worth and dignity of each student and their right to reach their maximum potential with appropriate
supports. There should also be supports in place for our Early Years students to address problems
before they manifest into larger issues. Parkland School Division must continue to focus on and
promote the delivery of Innovative Education, Student/Staff Wellness programs and Environmental
Awareness, while being true and responsible stewards of our financial resources.
