Principal Appointments for 2016 - 2017

Parkland School Division’s Superintendent of Schools Tim Monds is pleased to announce the following administrative appointments for the 2016-2017 school year effective August 2016.  Both of the Division's high schools will be under new leadership as Mike Hubick returns from a secondment with Alberta Education to become Principal at Memorial Composite High School in Stony Plain.  Mike will fill the spot left vacant by Shauna Boyce who is the newest Associate Superintendent at Parkland School Division.  New to the division will be Cheryl Otto who makes the transition from Hilltop High School in Whitecourt to become the Principal of Spruce Grove Composite High School following the retirement of Darlene Marcinkevics.

Two current Assistant Principals receive their first Principal appointments in Parkland School Division as Anil Padayas re-enters the K-9 school environment at Graminia School while Treena Neumann takes over at École Broxton Park for the retiring Randy Hetherington.

Construction will begin shortly on the second new Kindergarten to Grade 9 school in Spruce Grove.  Extensive planning, hiring and logistical decisions continue and will now require the leadership from its first principal, Linda Simmonds.

“Parkland School Division continues our journey of creating a culture of learning together and this next wave of Principal appointments captures the essence of our Divisional goal of Universal Leadership,"  stated Superintendent Monds,  “Once we start sharing our knowledge, we really start to see our unified Vision and Mission lived out no matter what building you step into in Parkland School Division.  These indivduals have exhibited the ability to take risks, foster relationships and enable staff and students to innovate, share and redefine approaches to traditional learning.  We're excited to see the world open up in new ways under new leadership.”
