Associate Superintendent Appointment
March 24, 2016 - Parkland School Division’s Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Tim Monds, is pleased to announce that Ms. Shauna Boyce will be joining the Division’s senior executive team as Associate Superintendent. In the role of Associate Superintendent, Ms. Boyce will initially take over the portfolio held by retiring Deputy Superintendent Kelly Wilkins which includes People Services (human resources), Facilities Services and Communications.
“Shauna’s leadership demonstrates a strong emphasis on collaboration and has always been student-focused,” stated Tim Monds. “We are truly looking forward to tapping into Shauna’s passion for education. She’s a forward-thinking leader who describes herself as collaborative by nature. Her belief in shared leadership practices is evident and her experience with High School Redesign, overseeing the move of Memorial Composite High School to its current site and knowledge when it comes to systems thinking will be an invaluable resource for Parkland School Division.”

Ms. Boyce has served 22 of her 26 years of education in Parkland School Division and expanded her portfolio with a 4-year secondment with Alberta Education as the Examination Manager for Applied Mathematics 30. Her entire teaching and administrative career has been in a high school setting starting out as a Math, English, Chemistry and Alternate Programming teacher at Spruce Grove Composite High School. Ms. Boyce’s history with Memorial Composite High School in Stony Plain began as the Mathematics Department Head in 2002. She ventured into her administrative career in 2004 becoming Assistant Principal and moved into her current role as Memorial’s Principal in 2008.
Ms. Boyce completed her Master’s of Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Alberta in 2002. She earned her Bachelor of Education degree majoring in Mathematics and minoring in English Language Arts in 1990.
An official start date is to be determined for Ms. Boyce to begin her transition to the new role.
