Parkland School Division’s Superintendent of Schools Tim Monds is pleased to announce that Katherine Mann, currently an Assistant Principal at École Broxton Park School will be joining the Administrative Team at Spruce Grove Composite High School.
Katherine has been active in many different initiatives in both her teaching and administrative positions over the years. At the jurisdictional level she helped implement Parkland’s revised Individual Program Plans, was involved in developing and piloting the Grades 5-9 Citizenship and Social Responsibility Standards, worked with Learning Services to roll out the new Math curriculum and most recently, sat on the Assessment Working Group committee that is developing a report card that is in keeping with Alberta Education’s emphasis on curricular outcomes and competencies. She is a passionate educator who loves working with teachers in developing their practice.
Ms. Mann’s teaching career started right here in Parkland School Division at Muir Lake School in 1992. She continued teaching and began her administrative career at Duffield and then served as Principal of Tomahawk School for five years. Katherine moved to École Broxton Park School last year as an Assistant Principal.
Katherine graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Education in 1992 and 2003 earned a Bachelor of Arts in English. In June 2008, she completed her Masters in Education Studies – Educational Leadership.
"I am excited by the opportunity to be a part of the forward thinking of the High School Flexibility Enhancement project at Spruce Grove Composite High School and to be part of a staff that has worked hard to develop a collaborative environment,” states Mann on her new appointment.
